Checotah Intermediate School

Due to the inclement winter weather, Checotah Schools will use a Snow Day on Monday 1/26/26. All school sites will be closed. Stay warm and safe.

We have been informed that our phone lines are currently not working, and repairs are underway. If you attempt to call our office and your call does not go through, please call (918) 698-3916.

Power has been restored. At this time, we do not know if the restoration is permanent. We plan to continue with a regular school day until conditions dictate otherwise. Regardless, buses will run on their normal routes and schedules.

Power is not expected to return until after 3pm. This is probable to change and impact the after school programs. You are welcome and encouraged to check out your student.

I wanted to share a few quick updates about activities happening this week at CIS:

• Wednesday - Students will enjoy a movie during lunch tomorrow while enjoying their holiday meal. The office will be closed for a short time as staff also enjoy a holiday meal together.

• Friday - We will travel by bus to Checotah Middle School for a special performance of their school play. This is a great opportunity for our students to support the middle school and enjoy a live show.

• Also on Friday, and possibly on Thursday for practice, we will travel to the PAC for our 3rd and 4th concert. We are excited for them to share their hard work and talents.

All trips are local, supervised, and follow district transportation procedures. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.

Next Friday, September 12th, is Checotah Homecoming, and our CIS students get to join in the fun with Spirit Week! 🎉

Each day leading up to Homecoming has a special theme (see attached flyer). We’ve worked hard to make sure they’re simple, fun, and easy for families to participate in. 👕👟🎨

We can’t wait to see our students show off their school spirit and celebrate together! 💙🤍
