AANP Grants and Education Advancement Scholarships

United States Senate Youth Program

1st week in Sept.- a test registration form must be filled out & mailed in

$5,000 only for the 2 students representing the state    
11th or 12th graders who are currently serving in any one of the following student government offices:

a. Student body president, vice president, secretary, or treasurer
b. Class president, vice president, secretary, or treasurer
c. Student council representative
d. Student representative elected or selected (selected by a panel, commission, or board) to 
district, regional, or state-level civic or educational organization.

Students must the take an exam- prepared each year by a professor of political science- on
a designated Saturday at a nearby college. Ten students with the highest scores will be
interviewed by a panel of judges in Oklahoma City. These judges will select the 2 students

The Horatio-Alger Scholarship

Honoring the legacy and character of our nation’s 40th President, the GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program rewards college-bound students who demonstrate exemplary leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship with financial assistance to pursue higher education.

Each year, the Program selects numerous recipients to receive a $10,000 scholarship renewable for up to an additional three years – up to $40,000 total per recipient. Awards are for undergraduate study and may be used for education-related expenses, including tuition, fees, books, supplies, room, and board. In addition, Scholars are invited to participate in a special awards program and receive ongoing leadership-development support.

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for this award, applicants must:

  • demonstrate at school, at the workplace, and within the community the attributes of leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship;
  • demonstrate strong academic performance (minimum 3.0 grade point average/4.0 scale or equivalent);
  • be citizens of the United States of America;
  • be current high school seniors attending high school in the United States (students living on U.S. Armed Forces base and homeschooled students are also eligible); and
  • plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study toward a bachelor’s degree at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States for the entire upcoming academic year.

In addition, semifinalists must be nominated by an eligible community leader, such as a high school principal, elected official or executive director of a nonprofit organization, and must provide documentation to certify academic performance and financial need. The Phillips 66 SHIELD Scholars program is designed for high-potential undergraduate students who have an interest in our industry and who meet certain academic and activity requirements.

Minimum qualifications to apply for the SHIELD Scholars program:

Legally authorized to work in the United States
Rising juniors and seniors are eligible to participate and can apply the second semester of their sophomore or junior year

Oklahoma Heritage County Scholarships

Amount: $1,000

Students must take an exam to compete for scholarship money. Open to 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade students, the preliminary county scholarship exam will be objective and deal with the history and geography of Oklahoma.  The final exam will be essay and identification.
